THE BENEFITS OF INTERNAL HALYARD FLAGPOLES

These flagpoles are a dependable choice for commercial sites that can’t compromise on durability, control, and appearance. Instead of a rope running down the outside of the pole, the halyard lives inside the flagpole. It’s operated by a concealed winch/crank.

This design changes how the pole looks, how it wears over time, and how it performs in busy or exposed environments. Here are some of the many benefits of an internal halyard flagpole:

Protected rope or cable: The halyard is shielded from sun, rain, ice, and wind-driven abrasion - all things that can cause early wear.

Reduced noise: No rope slapping against the pole on windy days, which matters near offices, schools, and residential areas.

Lower tampering risk: The flag can’t be lowered or interfered with unless the person has access to the internal winch system.

Cleaner appearance: No visible rope, cleat, or knots. The pole looks smooth and professional.

Better performance in public spaces: Internal halyard systems are often specified for campuses, municipal buildings, and commercial properties with nearby foot traffic.

They may cost a bit more, but you get what you pay for with this type of commercial flag pole

WHAT'S AN INTERNAL HALYARD & HOW DOES IT WORK?

An internal halyard flagpole uses a rope or cable housed inside the pole to raise and lower the flag. Basically the flag is connected to an internal halyard that uses a winch and revolving truck at the top of the pole to raise and lower the flag.

HOW ARE INTERNAL & EXTERNAL HALYARDS DIFFERENT?

An external halyard flagpole is generally more affordable since the rope sits outside the pole and just ties off at a cleat. Internal systems are more expensive, but they pay for themselves in terms of protection, security, and professionalism.

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF A WORN HALYARD?

Fraying, stiffness, difficulty raising the flag, or uneven movement are common signs that an internal or external halyard should be replaced.

IS SHIPPING FREE ON A COMMERCIAL FLAGPOLE? (YES!)

The average minimum cost to ship one 20' flagpole within state lines, is a whopping $600! That's a cost most competitors charge at least $479+ for, but here at HD Flagpoles, we cover that cost on your behalf for 100% FREE SHIPPING, regardless of how many flagpoles you order.

HOW LONG DOES SHIPPING TAKE ONCE I ORDER?

Order process within 24 hours. Shipping for telescoping flagpoles takes an average of 4-5 days while freight shipping on in-stock commercial flagpoles can average up to 4 weeks depending on your place in the production line. Shipping for commercial flagpoles with an anodized finish that are not in stock can take up to 6 weeks.

CAN COMMERCIAL FLAGPOLES FLY 2 FLAGS?

Yes you can fly two flags at once with this flagpole but we don't recommend flying anymore than that.

HOW TALL ARE COMMERCIAL FLAGPOLES?

They range from 30 to 80 feet, but most of what we sell is in the 30-50 foot range. We can help you narrow it down to the right size for your property if you reach out.

HOW MUCH IS COMMERCIAL FLAGPOLE INSTALLATION?

It all depends on flagpole height, foundation size, soil conditions, and equipment access. Smaller commercial flagpoles may only cost a few hundred dollars to install, but larger commercial flag poles will need an engineered foundation, a large crane and experienced crew to complete installation. We recommend contacting larger sign companies and general contractors for an estimate.

WHERE SHOULD I PLACE A COMMERCIAL FLAGPOLE?

Optimal flagpole placement varies from location to location with no one location being the same. The main aspects to consider are the view of the flagpole and if the flagpole or the flag itself are impeding any trees, roof edges or electrical lines. The flagpole should be seen in the front of the building, without any entanglements.

CAN I RETURN MY COMMERCIAL FLAGPOLE?

Yes, if you've identified damage to the flagpole, you can instruct the delivery driver to simply send the flagpole back due to damage. It's important to contact us immediately with pictures/proof if your flagpole arrives damaged.
